ECHO Donates Mosquito Nets, Insecticide by Curtis Winston

The European Community Humanitarian Office recently donated 14,000 mosquito 
nets and 2,496 liters of insecticide to the International Red Cross, which gave the 
items to the Cambodian Red Cross, which turned it over to the Cambodia National 
Malaria Center. Those on hand for the donation included Dr Stefan Hoyer of the 
World Health Organization, Dr T Y Abdulcoyme of the Cambodia National 
Malaria Center, Dr My Samedy of the Cambodian Red Cross, and Dr Seija 
Tyrninoksa of the International Red Cross. Abdulcoyme thanked The Cambodia 
Daily Mosquito Net Campaign, which made many aware of the malaria situation 
and "helped to convince the decision-makers" to respond.
